(This is a not-so-cute quote, but one worth documenting.)
At dinner recently my husband was telling our oldest to stop talking so that he could eat. Our youngest said to Daddy, without missing a beat and with a bit of attitude, "YOU'RE talking."
Oh dear. I have two argumentative and defensive peas-in-a-pod. Lord, please help me. When they start plotting together against me, I hope somebody has my back.

As relayed to me by her caregiver
My daughter's caregiver called me this morning, only about 20 minutes after I dropped her off. She told me my daughter said I was sick and that she needed to go home and be with me. What a precious little thing she is!

"I can't hug you"
My middle child was holding his arms in a careful, sheltered way this morning when he woke up. He said they were hurting. He told me not to squeeze them, because that would make it hurt worse.
I said, "Okay, I'll just hug you."
MC: "I can't hug you back; it will hurt too much."
Me: "That's alright, you can hug me with your heart."
MC: "How do you do that?"
