No Discretion

My daughter and I were sitting together recently, each of us enjoying a small snack.  She chimes in and says to me, "Mommy, you're getting a belly like [my teacher]."  (Who happens to be about eight months pregnant.)

I guess maybe I should do a bit less snacking.

Honesty

My middle child was very honest the other day.  My dad, who is well known throughout the family to lay in the floor and sleep, did indeed lay down in the floor with the intention of going to sleep.  The middle child witnessed this and said, "Granddad, please just don't snore too loud."

Attitude at the dinner table

(This is a not-so-cute quote, but one worth documenting.)

At dinner recently my husband was telling our oldest to stop talking so that he could eat.  Our youngest said to Daddy, without missing a beat and with a bit of attitude, "YOU'RE talking."

Oh dear.  I have two argumentative and defensive peas-in-a-pod.  Lord, please help me.  When they start plotting together against me, I hope somebody has my back.

As relayed to me by her caregiver

My daughter's caregiver called me this morning, only about 20 minutes after I dropped her off.  She told me my daughter said I was sick and that she needed to go home and be with me.  What a precious little thing she is!
